Memories of Kangaroo Island April 22, 2008

Having strived & worked so hard through my life, I woke up one day and decided I wanted a quality life. I can’t believe since my childhood till my adult life, my first trip was to nearest Johor, Kuala Lumpur on the coach, followed by a chanced company trip to Vietnam in 1994, to be a human courier to escort some tender documents over for a water filtering project in Saigon. I decided no doubt I have been through & experienced a lot of harsh realities in life but I have yet to see the horizon. So I decided to set my goals to enrich myself further and to start traveling and start seeing the other side of my world!
Kangaroo Island was my first real planned holiday and very expensive trip to me since this was a first travel in my life. It was never a mistake or regrets to take my first step ……
Kangaroo Island is worth an experience; an island that is not so commonly popular or I would rather say known yet to be explored further by many tourists. I would simply described as a place you would breath the freshes & cleanest air and an island that has a minimum percentage of crimes. A good place to enjoy, relax and recuperate and with the 100% clear air, one would recover very well even from the most critical illness.
My friend and me, we took a flight 14 hours flight via Sydney to Adelaide (of course we did stop over for 2 days tour) followed by 3rd day taking a transfer from our hotel to the Sealink Connection Coach, traveling about 3 hours on the road from Adelaide to Cape Jervis. Then we took an hour ferry from Cape Jervis to Penneshaw and a coach transfer from Penneshaw to Kingscote. By the time we got into Kingscote and check into Ozone Hotel, it was almost midnight. There were no street lamps it was really dark and independently depended on the bus headlights.
It was July 2005 and it was winter, we were told it will be cold like 17-18 degrees but we were wrong, it was freezing cold dropping to almost to 12 degrees.
